REAR BRAKE BLOCK OFF PLATE
W/ COOLING FINS

Why do I need this?

The feedback that I am getting:
"My brake pads are lasting longer."
"My brakes don't fade like they use to."

What is happening is the brake fluid expands with heat and enough so that this pushes on the brake piston allowing the brake pad to drag on the brake disc, heating up your brakes. The block off plate with cooling fins is taking enough heat away from the brake fluid so that the fluid no longer pushing against the brake piston and the brakes no longer drag, hence cooler brakes. The better your brakes work than your competitors will allow you to out brake them and may the pass for better race results and bragging rights when riding.

Installation Tips:

For better heat transfer use a heat transfer paste between the block off plate and caliper. I found a computer product that works well (DYNEX) is the brand I found at my local computer store. If you want more cooling and don't mind the look of sand blasted alum. then sand blast to increase the surface area of the part. You will not want to sand blast the face of the part that bolts up to the caliper. If you do both of these steps your block off plate will perform at 100%.
